How much do I HATE potty training??

Let me count the ways! As some have been forced to hear before, potty training is hands down the WORST thing about parenting so far. I hate it. I HATE it. I hate IT! Unfortunately I also am tired of changing diapers... and washing them... and folding them... and changing them... and washing them... etc. I truly am at a loss to understand how a child as intelligent as my almost three year old can be so at lost as to what to do on a potty. La sigh.

ANYwho, on to today's horror story. So I took the kiddos outside and put them in "big kid pants"... Miriam in the desperate hope that she *might* learn something, and Evan to help his bad diaper rash. I certainly don't expect Evan to use the potty, so wasn't surprised to find him wet 15 minutes into outside play. So I pulled off his wet pants. As I was doing that Miriam ran up and happily announced, "I'm wet!!" Great... Then I did stupid thing #1. I pulled off her wet panties... without looking. Half way down I realized my mistake, but it was too late. A LARGE lump of poo fell out. Great... just great. NOW what am I going to do with this? Barely has this thought exited my mind when that "problem" went away. Snoopy ran up, grabbed the lump of poo, and ATE IT!! I tried to stop him, but it took all of 2 seconds. I am SOOOOO grossed out! That dog will NOT be licking me any time in the near future! Thankfully the garden hose was near by. So ten minutes later Miriam's bottom and Snoopy's mouth had both been rinsed (neither learned anything from that, I'm afraid), both kids have dry pants, Mommy has scrubbed her hands, and the dog is hiding. I hate potty training....
