Easter fun
We had a great Easter this year. We got the kids up and took them to sunrise service like we do every year... not that there was a sunrise that you could see this year! :) Then breakfast with everyone at church. Then home to get ready for the service.
After church, we all went to the home of some friends who were part of our small group. Our group has a tradition of meeting every Easter at their farm for a big meal followed by a Easter egg hunt. Everyone has a lot of fun. This year was no different. we didn't get back home until almost 7 PM. I was sort of surprised how well both kids did with missing their naps on top of getting up early! They're really both troupers.
Brian helped Evan with the egg hunt. He didn't do too bad for a little guy. He was kind of shell shocked by all the craziness around him, I think. Nonetheless, he got plenty of candy. Miriam was soooo excited this year. She found lots of eggs and didn't want to stop! After we found them all, she kept grabbing my hand and saying "Let's find eggs!!" She also ran around doing the "egg dance" which looked a lot like her version of the chicken dance!
The only downer of the day was Miriam's run-in with the back of the wooden two person swing. It hit her going full speed on the side of the head, knocked her down hard, and left a small gash right by her eye. I saw it happen, and it scared the crap out of me. One inch up or one millimeter over and we would have spent Easter afternoon in the ER. But, thank God, she's alright! Here are a few pictures of the day.
