This week in Adventures in My Father's World we continued to learn about Jesus as the Bread of Life in Bible and about bread in science. Our history focused on the pioneers of Michigan.
It was suggested that we visit a bakery or someone who grinds their own wheat for flour. Instead we watched a few video about this topic and made (and played with) our own salt dough. We were also suppose to male napkin holders that looked like a loaf of bread or a slice of bread and write our memory verse on it. Since we don't need a napkin holder (or three), I choose to have the kids made place mats with a "slice of bread" and verse on them. I liked the way they looked but unfortunate I forgot to take a picture.
We continued with our read aloud "The Courage of Sarah Noble" which the children seemed to really enjoy.
Here are a few photos from the week... salt dough:
The canoes we made after studying how the French settlers traveled down rivers in them.
